Schreurs reflects on a productive week at GrowTech Antalya 2025

What an incredible few days at GrowTech Antalya from 18 to 21 November. As Schreurs, we were thrilled to be part of this inspiring international event once again. Throughout the week, our stand saw a fantastic turnout, with numerous engaging conversations, positive reactions, and a wide range of valuable new connections. The atmosphere was energetic, and it was truly motivating to meet so many professionals who share our passion for innovation and growth within the horticultural sector.

Representing Schreurs this year were Robin van Schip and Lars Winters, who welcomed visitors, shared insights into our latest developments, and captured many great moments during the exhibition. Their active presence helped strengthen existing partnerships and opened doors to promising new collaborations. It was encouraging to see such strong interest in our work and the opportunities ahead.

Successful Open Days 2025 at Schreurs Holland

Last week, Schreurs proudly hosted its Open Days 2025, welcoming visitors from across the world to our facilities in De Kwakel.

Schreurs Announces Collaboration with Kwekerij Hesen for Gerbera Breeding

The Kwakel, January 16, 2025 – Schreurs Holland B.V., a leading breeder of gerberas, roses, and Sunshapers, has entered into a collaboration with Kwekerij Hesen. As part of this collaboration, Rick Hesen will take on the responsibility of gerbera breeding within their family business.

Kwekerij Hesen, based in Meterik, was established in 1994 and began with the cultivation of one hectare of gerberas. Due to growing demand, the company expanded with a second hectare in 1997. With over 30 years of experience, Kwekerij Hesen has developed into a renowned player in the gerbera sector. Now, the company is taking a significant step forward with the launch of an ambitious breeding program focused on developing innovative gerbera varieties. The program emphasizes a compact yet open plant structure, high productivity, and ease of use for growers.

The partnership with Schreurs provides the ideal foundation for bringing these new varieties to the global market. Kwekerij Hesen’s assortment will be a valuable addition to Schreurs' existing collection, which is aimed at serving diverse markets with unique color schemes and varieties.

Schreurs Holland B.V. announces exclusive partnership with Kwekerij Esmeralda for the sales of gerbera varieties

De Kwakel, 22-07-2024 – Schreurs Holland B.V., a leading breeder of gerberas, roses, and Sunshapers, has announced an exclusive partnership with Kwekerij Esmeralda, regarding the exclusive sales of gerbera varieties bred by Kwekerij Esmeralda.

Kwekerij Esmeralda, based in Rijnsburg, is a prominent company in the production of gerbera flowers. The company has started its own breeding program for mini and large-flowered gerberas since 2013. Kwekerij Esmeralda focuses on breeding varieties with a compact but open crop, high productivity and ease of picking is an important selection benchmark as well.

The company's efforts have resulted in the development of five commercial varieties, which can be admired in Schreurs' show greenhouse in De Kwakel. Of the five varieties, two are already in Schreurs' newest catalogue. From September it will be available to everyone.

Kwekerij Esmeralda's assortment is a valuable addition to Schreurs' existing range.Each country and culture has its own preferences regarding colour schemes, flower varieties and use of gerberas. Schreurs is always seeking the best varieties for every market. With the addition of Kwekerij Esmeralda's assortment, Schreurs will be even better equipped to meet customer demand.

After a very thorough preparation period, including various intensive discussions regarding both companies, sales structures, and the Sunshapers product, we are proud to announce that Schreurs Holland BV and Rijnbeek and Son Perennials Export BV are combining forces in the United Kingdom (U.K.) market. Schreurs Holland BV has recently added a new product to its portfolio: Outdoor Gerbera Sunshapers. With the knowledge, contacts, and years of experience of Rijnbeek and Son Perennials Export in the English market, Schreurs is confident in making this a great success.
